Hi, I'm Ducky, the face behind Handmade by Ducky. 🦆

What started as a way to solve my own problem has grown into something I never imagined.

A few years ago, my life changed when I became chronically ill. Alongside everything else I was trying to cope with, I also started losing my hair. As my hair became thinner and more delicate, I found that ordinary hair ties pulled on my roots, snagged my hair and were simply uncomfortable to wear.

I searched for a scrunchie that would hold my hair securely without pulling or causing unnecessary tension, but I just couldn't find one that felt right.

So, I decided to make my own.

The funny thing is... I hadn't used a sewing machine since secondary school! I dusted one off, watched plenty of tutorials, made lots of mistakes (and even more scrunchies!), and slowly started creating designs that were not only beautiful but comfortable enough for me to wear every day.

Somewhere along the way, I completely fell in love with sewing.

What started as one handmade scrunchie for myself soon became gifts for friends and family, and before I knew it, Handmade by Ducky was born.

Today, every product is still lovingly handmade by me here in the Sunshine Coast of Eastbourne UK. From our signature scrunchies and Microfibre Scrunchies to Scrunkeys and accessories, every item is created with care, attention to detail and the hope that it brings a little comfort, confidence and joy to someone else.
